| PREVIOUS PLAYGROUND PROJECT: MAY 2003 |
It's Just The Kids, Inc and almost 60 U.S. volunteers, returned from Cuba after spending a week to build playgrounds in Havana. The project was hugely successful, thanks to the hard-working, dedicated volunteers who toiled for many hours in the hot Havana sun, digging holes, assembling equipment and pouring concrete. |

I had to rush off at the airport the other day w/out thanking all of you for making the trip such a great experience for all of us, but I wanted to tell you all what a great job you did. It was definitely one of the coolest weeks I've ever spent, and I'd go again in a heartbeat. You may have spoiled me though, because my day job doesn't seem all that appealing anymore... I would like to let you know that I enjoyed our trip to Cuba very much and the experience that we went through together. The work to assemble the playgrounds may have been taxing at times in the heat, though the appreciation shown by the Regla community and the excitement of the children when they were able to enter the playground made all the efforts well worth it......truly a lifetime memorable experience.
