Are you aware how lucky we were to have spent eight wonderful days in Habana??? To have worked and played, and danced, and laughed... with people we can call "friends"? For me, it was enough just to see Cuba - because it was a dream come true and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. And to say that I met some special people along the voyage is just a remarkable thing to bring home to my family and friends, especially when they were generous enough to make the contributions. But what made it all so special was the fact that we were on a mission to build something... Imagine what the kids thought of the tall red tubes, and the blue plastic structure, and the purple bars? I can remember even the adults inquisitively asking themselves what all this "stuff" was. Until hours later, when it was all built did they realize that it was in fact, a playground. And to see the look on the people's faces - I remember arriving to the first site in Cotorro where we introduced ourselves to the community by unloading and organizing the equipment, along with our Cuban friends. I recall working along several of the Cuban workers, and remember how hard they worked, and how their smiles brought so much joy in what we were doing. It was like a dream... to have spent eight days enjoying the sun, the culture, and the tons of smiles. So if you ask me how my trip to Cuba was, I would say it was nice, but my "mission" was definitely one hundred and twenty percent worthwhile... and I would do it again, and again, and again...
